Having a registered position is what we call a formal job, which is due to the fact that it carries proof that you worked in a certain company.
Therefore, the digital work card is nothing more than the extension of the original document, that is, the physical one.

When we say extension, it is because you still need to keep your Work and Social Security Card with you, in case you need to present the time you worked in a certain institution.
That is, if you already have a paper wallet, now you can have it digitally. There is no restriction regarding this.
It is important to remember that your digital CTPS can replace the conventional document, in job interviews, if the company has eSocial.
The 'eSocial' in question is an acronym used to refer to the Digital Bookkeeping System for Tax, Social Security and Labor Obligations.
Which means that it is a project developed by the federal government of Brazil, in which the main purpose is to unify the sending of data about workers on a website and allow companies to provide the information only once.
Therefore, when a company releases information about the worker on this website, the information will go directly to the digital work card, that is, there will be no need to sign the original document.
However, if the company does not use eSocial, it can then request its printed Employment and Social Security Card.
This document application allows the employee of a company to see the notes that have been made by the company in their wallet.

Contrary to what many think, the digital CTPS application has existed for some time, more specifically, since 2017. However, at that time, the digital document did not replace the conventional document.
COMO FAÇO PARA INSTALAR O APLICATIVO DA CTPS DIGITAL?

As we said at the beginning, the application can be accessed from any smartphone, whether Android or iOS.
- At first, what you should do is access your app store, which is App Store, for Android, and Google Play, for IOS;
- In the search bar, which is at the top of the screen, type 'CTPS Digital';
- When you find the app (which, remembering, it's free), what you should do is press the button that indicates the download, either 'Install' or 'Get'.
Now, so that you can access it, so that you can see all the available information, follow the following commands:
- Drag to the side all the screens that explain how everything works, so that then click on 'Enter';
- Then, you will be asked for your login and password, which are obtained through registration (if you do not have it, continue reading, as in the next topic we will present more details about it);
- On your first access, the privacy policy will be presented, in which you must accept and proceed;
- Ready! Now you can see all the information that your Digital Workbook has.
COMO FAÇO PARA REALIZAR O CADASTRO NO APLICATIVO DA CTPS DIGITAL?
Now we will show here how to register in the digital CTPS application.
First, it will be necessary to fill in the available fields, with the personal information that will be requested, such as:
- CPF-Individual Taxpayer Registration;
- Full name;
- Date of your birth;
- State of birth (if you were not born in Brazil, choose 'I'm not Brazilian';
- Mother's name.
After that, if all the information presented matches information from the National Social Information Register (CNIS), you will be directed to five questions related to your history as a worker.
Therefore, we recommend that you have your work permit in hand. To proceed, you need to get at least four of the questions asked right.
But if you don't reach the goal, you have to try again in 24 hours. After that, you will receive a password, however, you must change it according to your taste, when you log in for the first time.
