However, there are alternatives that also respond to voice commands and can organize your personal needs right on your phone.
4 Types of Virtual Assistants You Can Use
See below for the best virtual assistants available!
- Siri – virtual assistants
Launched in 2011, Siri is the virtual assistant for Apple devices. Installed natively on iPhone, it can be used to organize your daily work, run commands, and connect apps or other external devices. Just say "Hey Siri" or press the device's side button to wake it up.
One of the main advantages of Siri is its ability to make suggestions while using the device. The assistant can be used to analyze your usage trends and suggest calls, searches and messages. In addition, it is possible to integrate Siri with native and third-party applications so that it “learns” as you use each tool, providing specific suggestions for searches and commands. Siri is still well integrated with iCloud and the Photos app for quickly finding files on your phone. If you have other Apple devices like AirPods or iPads, it can also be used as a virtual assistant. The functions of a cell phone are varied: it can give news, identify the music that is playing, do mathematical calculations, create reminders and much more.
- Google Assistant – virtual assistants
On Android, the native existence of the virtual assistant is due to Google Assistant. With the voice command “Ok, Google”, you can start the tool and apply commands to access contacts, send messages, receive news, open applications and customize your day to day. Many of the app's commands can be found under the “Your Day” tab of the Google app, which gathers important information about your interests, events, and lists for the week. The tool can also be used to automate your daily work: for example, you can configure actions during working hours, silence notifications on your cell phone.

Google Assistant is built into a variety of devices running the Android operating system and can also be used with Android Auto. The iOS version of the assistant can respond to various voice commands, but it does not automatically trigger the “Ok, Google” command, cannot be integrated with devices such as the Apple Watch and is limited to Siri functions.
- Alexa – virtual assistants
Alexa is best known for its smart speakers from Amazon's Echo lineup, but it also has an AI version of it in its mobile app. If configured as a default option for the operating system, the Assistant can be activated using traditional voice commands on Android. The Alexa app can be used even without an Amazon device: all you need is an account on the platform to access the main functions. The interface is divided into tabs with communication options, fast music or radio playback and areas for managing connected devices.
- Bixby – virtual assistants
To close the list of virtual assistants, the Samsung also has its own virtual assistant model through Bixby artificial intelligence. The tool is natively installed on Galaxy series devices and integrates with other company devices such as Galaxy Watch, SmartTags, Galaxy Buds, Smart TVs and others. Bixby can be used to execute commands on your phone in a similar way to the other options on the list.
In Galaxy series phones, Bixby Routines also has a bright spot, which can automate daily routines. When the feature is enabled, artificial intelligence analyzes your usage patterns and suggests commands for different situations and times of day.
